Baier Future Home | Cross-border Debut at inD Guangzhou Art Book Fair & Project Launch Successfully Completed
From January 11 to 14, 2024, Paterson jointly presented with Baizao the “Baier Future Home” project, making a spectacular debut at the inD Guangzhou Art Book Fair. At 1 p.m. on January 13, the project launch ceremony was grandly held, officially kicking off the “Baier Future Home” renovation initiative!
This year’s book fair takes “inD Contextual Creation” as its theme, aiming to inspire all creators to jointly explore new creative possibilities and spark fresh ideas from every independent individual. The exhibition area is divided into five main sections, featuring 110 book stalls, 9 display booths, 14 workshop activities, 6 independently curated units, and 14 brand stalls. Additionally, there will be 16 lectures and 1A series of marathon-style talks ran throughout the four-day book fair.
Badesen × Baizao participated in the Guangzhou Art Book Fair with two booths—one small booth located at the center and a main brand booth measuring 3*3 square meters—welcoming children and adults alike to experience the “Versatile Furniture Water-based Paint DIY” activity on-site.
In addition to successfully hosting the launch event for the “Badesen Kids’ Future Home” project, the fair also featured a book signing session by the author of Illustrated Design Guide to Child-Friendly Spaces; a relay talk titled “Badesen Kids’ Future Home: The Hundred Languages of Children” organized by the Global Creators Alliance; and co-creation workshops such as the “Global Inspiration Library: Children’s Reading Space Design” and other activities.

With the implementation of China's national “double reduction” policy, the initiative to build child-friendly cities and communities has been elevated to a new level. In 2021, Guangzhou incorporated the development of a child-friendly city into its 14th Five-Year Plan. In 2022, Guangzhou was selected as one of the first cities nationwide for the national child-friendly city pilot program. For many years, Guangzhou has integrated the concept of “child-friendliness” into every aspect of urban development.
2023At the end of 2023, Paterson Home and Baizao Education Technology Co., Ltd. officially entered into a strategic partnership to jointly launch the “Future Home for Kids” renovation initiative, embarking together on a new journey toward a child-friendly world. Future Home for Kids aims to co-create child-friendly spaces with children themselves..
Lian Xiaogang, Founder of Baizao Academystated in his opening remarks: “From the perspectives of education and children’s developmental environment, today’s AI cannot replace uniquely human qualities or our perception of space. A child’s growth environment exerts an immersive influence throughout their development. Paterson has partnered with Baizao Academy to launch the “Future Home for Kids” renovation initiative, jointly supporting the healthy growth of children and adolescents. Anna, Head of Paterson Home’s Future Home for Kids Program, shared in her speech: “Participatory design is still a relatively new concept in China. Every child has their own ideas—and they can be designers too. We want children to have a voice in shaping their own growing spaces. We are truly honored to collaborate with Baizao this time, combining Paterson Home’s eco-friendly water-based coatings and fresh-air products with Baizao Academy’s innovative educational approach. We believe this partnership will co-create living spaces ideally suited for children.”

This launch event was fortunate to receive full support from inD Guangzhou Art Book Fair organizer, Weilai Society. Weilai Society Director Huang Yu shared in her speech: “The founding of Weilai Society itself carries a mission of creativity and education. I have personally signed up to participate in this event, hoping it can empower children by involving them in spatial design and idea generation, collaborating with professional teams to co-create a healthy and creative educational environment. I’m very much looking forward to seeing the first inspired creation from children at home.”

Zhang Jian, Chairman of Paterson Home, Yang Senjie, Deputy General Manager, Anna, Head of Bai'er Future Home, Lian Xiaogang, Founder of Baizao Academy, Huang Yu, President of Future Society, and Chen Siyu, Children-Friendly Space Design Consultant for Bai'er Future Home, jointly applied Paterson's water-based paint to add the finishing touch to “Bai'er Future Home,” officially launching the Bai'er Future Home renovation initiative.

Every child
is a spatial artist
In the United NationsConvention on the Rights of the Child, it is clearly stated that children have their own special rights. Article 12 of the Convention emphasizes respect for the views of the child—children have the right to freely express their opinions on matters affecting them. Adults should listen carefully, take children’s views seriously, and consider them thoughtfully.
Articles 13 and 29 state that “children have the right to share information, ideas, and feelings they receive or hold with others through speaking, drawing, writing, or other means...helping them fully develop their personality, talents, and abilities; understand their own rights and respect the rights and cultures of others as well as differences between themselves and others; and at the same time, helping them learn to live in harmony with others and to love, engage with, and protect the natural environment.”
Paterson actively responds to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child initiative, partnering with Baizao Academy to launch the [Paterson Kids’ Future Home Renovation Program].
The versatile furniture originates from patented educational tools designed by Tsinghua University top students. Featuring an ingenious “dot-and-line” hole design, it is both playful and structurally stable. With easy snap-together assembly, creative ideas can be quickly realized, turning kids into focused “little designers.” At the launch event, Baizao Academy prepared educational kits for the children.Under the guidance of their teachers, children used smiley boards, ropes, and wooden sticks to enjoy an engaging modular furniture building experience, interactively creating their own furniture. Using modular furniture educational kits, DIY hands-on creative building allowed them to construct highly imaginative tables, chairs, cabinets, and other unique pieces.
Bai Er Future Home awarded a small gift to the children who participated onsite in the building activity—the 【Multifunctional Water-Based Paint Modular Furniture DIY Kit】, jointly developed by Paterson Water-Based Coating Wood Products Research Institute and Baizao Academy. Children's Reading Space Design Co-Creation Workshop
On the afternoon of January 14, Baier Future Home led a group of children to the “Global Inspiration Library” branch of Tianhe District Library at Weilai Community, where they participated in the Children's Reading Space Design Co-Creation Workshop.
In the large space of the “Global Inspiration Library” on the third floor of Weilai Community, under the joint guidance of Lian Xiaogang (Founder of Baizao), Zhou Yayun (Guangzhou Lead), Anna (Head of Baier Future Home by Paterson), and other instructors, over thirty children collaborated on creative construction projects themed around reading spaces.

The project team will provide professional children's space designers and mentor teams to offer one-on-one guidance throughout the design, customization, production, delivery, installation, and full documentation of the transformation process.
